For the second year in a row, Moveable Online exhibited at Dx3 Canada, a digital business conference held in Toronto. In addition to meeting-and-greeting at our booth, several of our attendees also attended a selection of the educational sessions. Shared below are each attendee's thoughts on their Dx3 experience.

Here are some interesting facts from the session I attended:
  • The use of smartphones and tablets has doubled each year since 2011.
  • Approximately 48 million tablets are in use today — it took smartphones 10 years to reach that milestone.
  • 50% of tablet use is for video/TV, and approximately 43% of tablet users read digital magazines or news.
  • Digital media consumption is most frequent with tablets in the evening, laptops/desktops mid-day, and smartphones in the morning.

Social Media: For end users, it's expected. Like running water from a faucet, when you are connected to the Internet, you expect Facebook and Twitter to be there. For companies, you have to plan for not the people you reach, but for the people that they reach. You must give THEM a reason to care and to share your stuff. The best place to be is a balance between paid media, earned media, owned media and shared media. The process is endless to establish continued social presence and the results resemble that of mining: infrequent but big results. -Kevin
One thing I noticed at Dx3 this year was not only the breadth of different service and product offerings, but the truly global network of attendees and exhibitors. I met people from Israel, South Africa, Australia, Japan, China, Poland, and the United States. It was great to see this enthusiasm from such a diverse group of people. - Mike
I found the entire ‘Inbound Marketing’ keynote presented by Hubspot’s CMO, Mike Volpe, to be full of valuable information. His anecdote about buying a car online illustrated the importance of presenting contextual information to your website visitors. It was not only insightful, but also provided actionable items that attendees could implement in their digital marketing strategies and campaigns right away. - Ian
